SOP - Panel Blending

• Refinement of all sanded area transitions.
• Prepare entire surface that will receive basecoat and clearcoat

Step 1 - Sand

Sand panel using P800 grit or finer abrasive using moderate speed.

For solvent-based systems, use P800 grit. For waterborne systems, use P1000.

Use an DE-1230-PC portable dust extractor or other dust collection system when sanding.

Use a Ultra Fine Gray scuff pad for surface contours, door handle recesses and other areas that cannot be reached by machine sanding.

Step 3 - Clean

Using the final cleaning solution  recommended by the paint manufacturer, clean the sanded area and apply adhesion promoter if required.

Follow paint manufacturer’s recommended procedure for blending.
