SOP - Clearcoat Spot Repair

• Remove dirt nibs in clear coats

Step 1 - Sand

Sand using moderate speed with a small amount of water as a lubricant.

Sand until the defect is just even, or slightly above the surrounding surface area. Sanding too long will produce “coin marks” in the finish.

Step 2 - Buff

Polishing Compound 10

MROP-312TH Random Orbital Sander
(3", 12mm orbit)
MPADOF-3.25 Orange Foam Pad
913G Backup Pad

Buff using PC10 compound in conjunction with an orange foam polishing pad (MPADOF-3.25).

Use a moderate speed to prevent  “burning” the finish.

Keep the pad clean from compound  build-up.

Step 3 - Polish

Polish using PC10 with a black foam pad (MPADBF-3.25).

Use a moderate speed to prevent “burning” the finish.

Step 4 - Clean

Microfiber Cloth

Wipe away any polishing residue using a clean microfiber cloth.
